Kanga Bangas
So yeah…this is it…and these are them…the last of my streetstyle photos from Sydney and Rosemount Australian Fashion Week. It’s time to move on to other things – but wow, Sydney is amazing. I hope to come back soon and perhaps make it to Melbourne next trip as well! For now, I’ll leave you with these photos and my “best of Sydney” list. (Best somebody-get-this-kid-to-Paris moment – Dion Lee’s show in an underground car park. Best only-in-Australia moment – swimming in the seaside shark-free rock pool at Icebergs, Bondi. You weren’t cool unless – you were wearing at least one piece from an Australian designer. That designer’s line wasn’t cool unless – the clothes featured at least a few cut outs, slashes, or panels. Best cheap eats - the “Tiger” meat pie with mashed potatoes and mushy peas at Harry’s Cafe de Wheels, dockside in Woolloomooloo. Best four-star hotel at two-star prices - the Swissotel, downtown. Best “I think it might be too early in the morning for this” moment – Romance Was Born. Best muses – Bronwyn, Kira, Lucinda, Sally, Emilia, Georgette.) xxoo to all the great people I met in Australia! – Eddie

Waltzing Matildas
Hi – it’s Eddie. I’m back home in the States now but had a fantastic time in Australia – aka “Straya”. I think Sydneysiders – and Aussies in general – are some of the most genuinely friendly people you will ever meet. While the fashion industry and community there is fairly small and close-knit, their passion for and commitment to fashion far exceeds other warm weather cities like Miami or Los Angeles. They are quite a bit more sophisticated in their fashion choices and knowledge than one might expect. I chalk this up to their British roots and to the cosmopolitan nature of Sydney today. I still have quite a few photos I want to share with you guys from Rosemount Australian Fashion Week…I’ll be recapping and posting more photos later this week. xxx
