Hey – my week on Capri is almost over. I’ve had a great week and I hope you guys have enjoyed the photos! My road trip continues next week with street style photos from two cities that I’ve never visited before. Check back on Monday for that. Ciao for now… x eddie

Island Life
Forever Young
While fashion comes and goes, style is forever – and Italy is synonymous with style. From age 5 to age 85, an innate sense of style is apparent on the streets of Capri. It’s part of the fabric of life here and not merely something to be dabbled in during your 20’s or 30’s. Here are a few of my photos of the stylish seniors and kids I’ve seen this week. x eddie ![]()
It Started In Capri
Saying that Capri style is beach style is like saying that Madonna is a singer – while true, it understates things by a mile. Things do stay quite casual on the street and around the main beach areas during the day – lots of designer bikinis under cover-ups, expensive sunglasses, and an impressive array of tote bags. Come aperitivo time however – when the daytrippers who visit the island have gone back to the mainland – Capri’s main square starts to resemble a resort collection come to life. Whether wearing the latest designer creations from the boutiques that line Via Camerelle, or opting for Caprese chic by wearing famous local labels such as the handmade sandals from Da Costanzo, everyone is looking summer chic. Costanzo by the way is 75 years old and not in his namesake shop everyday these days. (He was a cobbler in 1959 in the sandal maker’s shop that Sophia Loren and Clark Gable visit in the legendary Capri-filmed movie, It Started In Naples.) He also famously made sandals for Jackie O. He is still alive and still working however and everything in his shop is still handmade by either him or his son. No website and no mail order – only in Capri.
The Endless Summer
I’ve been having a super busy summer so far and have not managed to squeeze in much beach time. Perhaps you’ve spent too much time indoors this summer as well? So before it’s too late, I decided to head off to Capri to see if I can pack a summer’s worth of fun into just one week. This sounds like an impossible goal, but if any place has condensed the pleasures of warm weather living into its purest state then this small island in the Italian Mediterranean surely must be it. Although I’m here on vacation, I’ve brought my camera and laptop along so that I can document all of the great summer fashion on the island. I’ll be sharing my shots here with you guys while trying to catch up on my beach time this week. Maybe – if only for a moment – we can all be that kid diving off a rock once again. – x eddie
