Trampling On The Flowers
May 8th, 2008With everything floral print being red-hot for Spring/Summer ‘08…and with Liberty of London having already plastered flowers on everything from scarves to tea cosies over the years…I guess I shouldn’t really be surprised…but floral print shoes?! There are female sneaker heads out there though - and I’m sure some of you guys are already salivating over these Nike Dunks that are the result of a collaboration between Nike and Liberty. I sort of think that the gum rubber soles make them a bit fugly - but a cool British girl rocking them with say pale grey or black tights, a black dress, and one of the new fedoras by Stetson could likely change my mind. They are actually punk rock due to their complete lack of punk rockness. They are available starting this Saturday, May 10th at Opening Ceremony in New York and L.A. so don’t sleep. - x eddie

Yeah, because all female sneaker heads just loooooove flowers and pink and everything cute. Come on. most of us don´t want shoes that are any different from other sneaks out there. We don´t wan´t any special treatment, just smaller size´s of all sneakermodels. I wish sneaker designers would just make all sneakers unisex and stop making lame ass sneaks “just for women”. They are just ugly as hell, with all the pink and flowers and shit. And making a sneakermodel just for women, is like saying every other sneakermodel is for guys, but you can have this one, especially made for you because you´re a girl. That´s just soooo stupid. Ok, of course there are some girls that like the flowers and shit, but I believe they are just ordinary girls who occasionally buys a pair of sneaks. It´s like, if you´re a girl, you must love flowers and pink, or there´s something wrong with you. And if you want a sneaker in you´re size, you have no choice! I really hate that.

Totally agree with your point about designers making things unisex sized. I pick up things all the time in stores that are skinny fit or neon colored or whatever only to find that it’s sized just for girls and that the “guys” version is available only in brown and with baggy fit. This happens especially in the U.S. but not as much in Europe. I would say to the manufacturers - you guys just make the clothes, and I will decide whether it’s “for me” or not. The notion of someone deciding in advance that something is “for guys” or “for girls” is a bit annoying. Thank goodness that you can actually buy skinny jeans for guys these days. I literally used to take my jeans to the tailors and have the legs taken in so that they would be skinny fit.

I really like these sneakers is like a vintage , sort of moden twist (: i will totally wear these and i am the last person on earth to buy a pair of sneakers ! but i like these , just cute to walk around town with or for school ! and is springy and summer ! perfect color and fabric , just the bottom of it i am not that crazy about it , i hate rubber shoes at the bottom but overall is nice !!!

lovely, agreed i wouldnt wear them and prefer my sneaks more “manly” hahaha.
but my point was-
i’m pretty sure these are now availabe at urban outfitters.
Well i guess they are a bit different, but i swear i have seen those in store as well.

Hi - Urban Outfitters is carrying one of the sneaks in the Nike/LIberty series - there were a few different models/patterns made. But the model pictured here is very limited availability. As far as I know the shoe you see here is available only at Opening Ceremony in the U.S., Colette in Paris, Dover Street Market in London, and one store in Australia that I’ve forgotten the name of. The shoe you mentioned at Urban is part of the series but looks significantly different. Thanks for the tip though and if anyone else has updated or corrected information regarding where to find these please leave comments.
