Superstar producer Dallas Austin is DJing the show and opens up with Felix da Housecat’s amazing new track “Like Something For Porno” as Jenna Jameson takes the runway. With the venue’s sound system set to stun and Jenna strutting like she spent the last month rooming with J. Alexander, this opening is one of the hottest I have ever seen at any fashion show. With the energy of the opening maintained throughout the show, I was far from the only one dancing in my seat. And the pseudo-celebrity models just kept on coming – Aubrey O’Day, Brittny Gastineau, Lydia Hearst, and…umm…a model wearing a huge mesh dress stuffed full of fabric beach balls.
Too bad the energy of the show couldn’t be maintained for the afterparty. The venue for the party couldn’t have been better – the outdoor Tropicana Bar and Pool at The Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. Having missed dinner for the show, we arrived a bit early and stopped in for burgers and fries at the Roosevelt’s comfy 25 Degrees bar. The party itself was a bit low-key – not something usually associated with Heatherette afterparties. By the time two people jumped in the pool fully clothed (perhaps a misguided attempt to liven things up?), we had already decided to follow some of our friends over to the party at The Bar on Sunset. This proved to be the right decision as we found a very cute (and drunken) crowd dancing and smoking the night away in a circa-1930’s room that hit just the right balance between posh and divey.
