The Changing of the Guard
September 26th, 2007
Well, denizens of the blogosphere, this is good-bye for now. As of today I’m hanging my boots up and retiring from the disco floor here at Stylesightings. I’ve decided to cut loose from the Internet/New York for a while to try my luck in beautiful New Haven, Connecticut, where the Mainsqueeze has set up shop in order to attend grad school. The proverbial torch is being passed to the lovely Eddie Newton, one of New York’s most talented DJs and street-style photographers. Eddie is super-nice and will be a more-than-adequate replacement for this here blogger, so keep reading! Thank you so much for helping Stylesightings grow; it’s been a pleasure getting to know so many of you talented ladies and gents, and I’m sure we’ll meet again here on the Internets.
Love, Ashley Churchill
Helloooooo everyone! Well, as sad as I am to see the lovely and charming Ashley Churchill leave this fashionable realm, I couldn’t be more thrilled about being your new guide! (Seriously Ashley, you rock…and while I don’t usually make a habit of giving shout outs, I think I’ll make an exception in this case – Holla!)
First off, a bit about myself – Manhattan resident for the past 9 years but am originally from North Carolina. In New York, I interned for the Beastie Boys press agency (yes that was me answering the phone, “Hello, Nasty…”), produced fashion photo shoots for a couple of years (vague memories of renting a vintage Rolls-Royce for a Steven Meisel shoot for Vanity Fair), found myself DJing fashion events and runway shows for clients both edgy and mainstream, did music programming for the Tribeca Grand Hotel during the height of electroclash (Hi Miss Kittin! Hi Karl Lagerfeld!), took lots and lots of photos, and basically ran all over this wonderful city and others in search of the fun and fashionable. This constant search for the fun and fashionable is really what this blog is all about. Now I’ll be sharing my discoveries and photos and obsessions with you – and I hope you will do the same with me.

Ashley: I just started reading this but good job and good luck on further ventures!
Eddie: Welcome and thanks for keeping me company at the Sway thing that night (during fashion week) when my friends screwed me. Haha. You’re a very nice guy! Hopefully we’ll meet again.
