I’ve decided: I’m totally into the whole headwrap/turban/bizarro headband thing that took over the spring runways with a quiet fury. It took me a while, and I still think it’s not the easiest look to pull off, but overall, I just love the whole idea. Really, what’s better for hot days than accessories that keep your gross sweaty hair out of your gross sweaty face, and also give off the impression that you can see the future! (Seriously, that hot pink Prada turban is so very Madame Ruby). I fell especially hard for the brimmed Pedro Waterland, the Dries van Noten double headband and Lacoste’s braided pastel crowns. Anything to feel even more like a princess, eh?

I once wore this beautiful pink/blue silk scarf (it had a really cool art-deco print…I bought it at a 2nd hand store) as a head-wrap. I went out to a bar and some drunk guy asked me if I… and I AM QUOTING DIRECTLY HERE … “was ethnic, or something.”
Who says that… and what does it even mean?
“Are you ethnic, or something?”
I haven’t been bold enough to try it again…
Dear Ashley, If I don’t see you wearing at least one of these little numbers this season I will be bitterly disappointed
