Nordic Touring

Well Stockholm Fashion Week by Berns is over now for another season. It’s funny how quickly a fashion week can fly by - one minute you’re saying hello to the Facehunter at the opening show, the next you’re riding a friend home on the back of your bike after the closing party. Just because the week is over however doesn’t mean that I’m finished posting photos just yet. Oh no - there are quite a few more photos to come from the fashion week venues and from the streets of Stockholm. I’m heading to Oslo tomorrow as well…so photos next week from Oslo and Stockholm…it’s Stylesightings Summer in Scandinavia tour 2009! I should totally make tour t-sirts with streetstyle photos on the front and give them away or sell them in like a parking lot or something. haha xo eddie

Swedish Muse - Anna

Anna with the Cheap Monday hangar in the background…on a beautiful summer night in Sweden…she made the dress herself earlier in the day. How do you like her? x

Swedish Bargain Hunting

When trying to not only maintain but grow a fashion label in the midst of a recession, it probably doesn’t hurt to be thought of as cheap. That’s especially true when your line is thought of as well-priced (cheap), yet forward thinking and innovative on the design side (not cheap). That’s the best of both worlds and it goes a long way toward explaining the success of Cheap Monday. Their show and after/drinks thing was the biggest and coolest thing on the somewhat reduced show schedule this season in Stockholm. It was held in a huge, nearly hanger-sized space…on the grounds of an old telephone factory on the outskirts of the city…now the home of Konstfack art college. Here are some of the kids who turned up on the night. Yeah it was at night…it stays light outside until around 11pm here this time of year. xx eddie

‘holm Girls (and Boys)

Hey - it’s Eddie here. Yeah I’m in Stockholm for Fashion Week by Berns at the moment. I saw cool shows yesterday from Dagmar, The Local Firm, and Cheap Monday. Cheap Monday - with new creative director Ann-Sofie Back - put on the biggest show of the day by far. (More about that later.) Today and tonight are less about shows, more about presentations and store openings and parties. Here are some of my shots so far…xx

Come Sail Away

A mystery cutie on 42nd Street. I’m always a sucker for a nautical-inspired look in the summer…there’s something about it that is just so season appropriate in our ever more season-less fashion landscape…so fresh, so easy…it’s like she just docked on the Hudson and a breeze blew her straight down 42nd Street…hehe. Nautical looks often have a bit of a vintage feel to them. Here though it’s not only her outfit giving this retro feeling - her wavy hair and flawless complexion look straight out of a 1930’s Broadway chorus line. She’s a cutie! xx eddie
